Red Cross services are made possible by the voluntary contributions of the American people.  Even though we are chartered by the US Congress, the Red Cross receives no annual budget from federal coffers.

Funding for the High Point-Thomasville Chapter comes from several places:

  • United Way of Greater High Point
  • United Way of Davidson County
  • General Contributions from the public, large and small
  • Special Events
  • Program Support Fees

Due to the generosity of friends of the Red Cross, we occasionally receive a gift of stocks or an estate bequest.

Our Special Events

August 2nd - 10th Annual 'Tour de Furniture' Bicycle Ride.  "A Great Ride for a Great Cause!"

Operation: 'Bear-Hug' - 4th Annual holiday sale of teddy bears and other stuffed animals from the legendary, Mary Meyer Company.

'Heroes for the Red Cross' -    The High Point office conducts its 'Heroes' campaign during the month of  March, Red Cross Month. The Lexington office conducts the Davidson County effort mid-May through mid-June.  A 'hero' is someone who finds a way to raise $1,000.  it could be as simple as writing a check.  It could be as creative as a challenge to your staff and an embarrassing payoff. It's a grassroots campaign to support Emergency Services in the area.
